My wife’s grandmother passed away at 98 years of age. The entire family took part in her funeral,I was one of one to two hundred descendants. This funeral felt like a celebration; it seemed a little unreal, somewhat like a musical, at times sad and at other festive, and I unexpectedly found myself right in the midst of it all. Memories of my wife’s grandmother danced through my mind along with the rhythm of the funeral music, taking me repeatedly away from the scene of the funeral and back again. Perhaps our grandmother below was also taking part in the great celebration we were holding for her. Director's statement about the film / Note d’intention du directeur This film is a poem about memories and a departure At her funeral, The memories that we held in our hearts danced in time with the music, and were transformed by various rites.
