Mr. Sakurai at a Ticket Counter has a clear 8mm aesthetic and spontaneity. An experimental mini road movie stressing the 'movie', because it regularly stops for short camera exercises. With a single-frame technique, architectural objects are 'scanned' in space. |

Surreal poetic drama. Old lady, by the sea, bohemian painter, on the railway station, having their last thoughts. Intellectually bound with collective despair, voice of enclosing forgotten human conscience calling them out… I came here, laid, left or posed. Among the mass, as one, as everyone, torn away. Thinking it was right, that I would be. I am, but it is not. It is not right. Longing, for the final timeless moment. Longing for the darkness, tangible dark, black, thick. Enclosing, the unenclosed. Negative. Longing for nothing, nothing at all. |
