How can we cope with a tragic finality, when logic fails to reedem us? When in a hospital room a woman asks to see her child, she is asked to follow the typical procedure. As every attempt fails, she convulses into the forgotten trails of her subconscious bringing to the surface fragmented memories, which threaten to constitute, at any given time, a tragic picture of reality. Sometimes, when faced with the possibility of an unbearable pain, our need for redemption leads us to a realization that transcends the confines of rational human perception.

The video 'The Course of Things' uses the language of films to manoeuvre and influence our interpretation of images and stories. To do so, the artists have recorded on a daily basis the visitors of the London Natural History Museum and turn them into actors. In other words, they have edited the resulting footage in such a matter that it triggers our collective memory about action and crime narrative.
The performance of everyday life is often predictable, but at time unexpected, surprising and shocking. This video doesn't stage everyday life but design its performance. The video questions the boundaries between fiction and reality. |

Echo explores the adolescence of Emily, a young girl living with her wheelchair-bound grandmother, Halina, in a cavernous old house. Emily lives in a fantasy of her own creation, in which she objectively observes life around her with a fervent curiosity. She questions the existence of her grandmother, her aged body and of the strange vessel she finds herself in. Emily is suddenly not the centre of her own universe anymore. She starts to question the interdependence of living things, and the purpose of her own existence.

A reflection on the concept of memory and time after the violent departure of a friend. Denied images that travel in a lyrical and gaseous state of perception, through the elaboration of the filmic mistake. A film of organic suffering as a way to go beyond this pain, something I like to define as << "Cinema-therapy". |
