There is a small town with a twenty-year history of dismantling and decomposing metal scraps. More than 50,000 workers from other places are the main force behind the industry. They have no knowledge, but nevertheless are performing the miracle of turning stones into gold in their own original way. They made a lot of money, much more than they could have during an entire lifetime in their hometown, but it has taken a heavy toll on them.

The film began with my own search, then delving into my mother and her mother. As a victim of an oppressive marriage, my grandmother hoped my mother would enter a perfect marriage. When my mother became a victim herself, she turned those hopes to me.

We present film series focused on different countries and regions. This section intends to discover and explore different spaces and cultures with the aim to understand the specific regional, political and social circumstances, do reconstruct the emotional and intellectual spécificities of a special region or country. In this critical work we belief it's essencial to prefer films which rufuse, in its form and expression, the retake of sterotype ways of reality restituition, as an act of resistance in the actual period of "globalisation", which inclins to impose one dominating model of culture and habitutes..
