The Academy of Film and Television Arts "Konrad Wolf" is a public financed university of Brandenburg county. Founded in 1954, it is the oldest Germanmedia university.

The HFF resides in a magnificent new building amid the Media City Babelsberg, in the center of the current happenings, what guarantees high synergy effects. This way the HFF may contribute to the increasing of the creative potential of the Media City Babelsberg. Current and future partner companies are working in short distances, what makes cooperation much easier.

Integral part of the HFF training concept is on the one hand solid craftconscious of the own cultural roots and virtuosity in applying of newestmedia technologies on the other hand, complemented by scientific reflectionof regional and international media products within their respectivehistorical or current manifestations. The combination of artistic and scientific contents with theory-controlled practical studies is essential for the HFF education system. Creativity and fantasy meet with pragmatic requirements. This training system is unique within the German-speaking media university scene. It interlocks individual study courses and students of different courses are working together in projects. Herewith teamwork skills both personality and creative individuality will be developed. There are 11 courses of studies: Animation, AV Media Sciences, Film and Television Dramaturgy/Film Script, Camera, Media Specific Acting, Film and Television Production, Film and Television Direction, Film Music, Editing, Set Design and Sound Design.
