In search of one of the sixties’ most astonishing voice, adulated by her pairs, but unknown from the general public, A Bright Light is a documentary made of music, art and questions on the way the process of creation. In an enchanted and wild journey across the whole country, from Colorado to New York, and through New Orleans, Philadelphia and Woodstock, three women, with their cameras, sound equipment and a car, go out looking for this once upon a time muse, and meets those who knew her, and those whom she still haunts and influences today. The film draws the portrait of this exceptional, furiously free artist who refused the system and its compromises. Through this iconic figure, it follows the quest of a certain freedom of life and expression, an independence for better or for worse.
