We invite the new upcoming International Festival Bosnia-Herzegovina
Looks Around
with a preselection of films of their actual program.
The First Edition will take place in Bottrop, Germang, Nov. 9-11, 2018
The conept of the festival is simple:
We want to create a dialog between Bosnia-Herzegovina and the neighbor
countries by the media of (personal) films, to understand better the
actual situation confronting the past and the future in the region.

Family tensions are slowly eroding what should have been a carefree
summer for 10-year old Jakov. Shielded by the innocence of a child,
Jakov does not understand the cause of the troubles, but can sense a
profound injustice in the actions of the grown ups. A series of events
ending in tragedy will incite his emotional revolt, but also his
feelings of guilt.

For us, a thought always presupposes a society, a culture, and, above
all, the consciousness of time. The film revolves around a light bulb
like the Earth around the Sun. Light makes the film visible. In the
orbit of the film tragedy and our reality, the image resists the
cruelty of the experiment.

It is International Women’s Day. An?a, a young village housewife, has
finally built up the courage to go to police. A victim of family
violence, she doesn’t want to report her husband for abuse. Instead,
she asks inspector Perkov just to talk to him. Perkov agrees to help
her, but only if she signs the report. Will she be able to take that
one additional step?
