Portrait of a young Mongolian women who came as a child from Mongolia to Eastern Germany with great expectations and experienced racism, hopelessness and the high unemployment rate of a small town in Brandenburg. In the film we are following her story from the first bananas she has ever eaten in her life, the solidarity in Eastern Germany, her drug experiences, mass consumption and how she found the way back to herself in the prostitution milieu.

The film "Snowstorm“ observes a memory athlete as she memorises a binary code. The documentary style camera work and the text shown at the beginning suggests that it is Cornelia Beddies, a famous memory athlete. The mental strength and the high degree of concentration is apparant in her face.
The binaries used in the Video are based on a digital photography that eventually leads to William Turner´s seascape "Snow Storm – Steam-Boat off a Harbour’s Mouth” hanging in the Tate Britain, in London.
Julia Weissenberg's Schneesturm skilfully plays with the question of whether the memory artist who is memorizing an infinite binary code, is genuine or just a set-up.

This section intends to discover and explore different spaces and cultures with the aim to understand the specific regional, political and social circumstances, do reconstruct the emotional and intellectual spécificities of a special region or country. In this critical work we belief it's essencial to prefer films which rufuse, in its form and expression, the retake of sterotype ways of reality restituition, as an act of resistance in the actual period of "globalisation", which inclins to impose one dominating model of culture and habitutes..
