On 15 August 1778, seven men from Gressoney-La-Trinité climbed Mont Rose in search of a lost valley celebrated in legends of the time. Until then, only hunters and scientists had approached the glaciers of this massif. They were the first to scale a mountain out of a pure desire for discovery and were thus, in a sense, the fathers of modern climbing.

Despite her hard work she submerged in poverty because what she earns is not enough to feed her children and pay rent. Still, she will do anything to support her kids, even though she fears she will not live to see them grow up. |
