Italie / Italy 2006 DV 0:07:00 VO sans dialogue Toutes les nuits, un homme se réveille, gêné par une démangeaison. La démangeaison habituelle à l’oeil. Toutes les nuits, il se réveille, va dans la salle de bain et exécute son rituel. Ce n’est qu’une habitude. Every night a man wakes up bothered by a itch. The usual itch in the eye. Every night he wakes up, goes to the bathroom and performes his ritual. It’s just an habit.

 

Beach (Plage) , de Guli Silberstein

Israël / Israel 2006 DV 004:57 VOSTA Un récit personnel sous la forme d'un faux programme télé. Un flux accéléré d'images, montrant une famille à la plage de Tel Aviv, est juxtaposé à la vidéo d'une fille courant sur une plage bombardée de Gaza, à seulement 100 kilomètres de là. C'est une réalité, dans laquelle la tranquillité se transforme en horreur en un instant et où les possibilités du Réel sont contenues, soulevant des questions existentielles et morales . A personal account in the form of an out of tune TV broadcast; an accelerating stream of images, depicting a family on the beach in Tel Aviv, is juxtaposed with a video of a girl running frantically on a bombed beach in Gaza, only about 100 kilometers away. It's a reality where tranquility turns into horror in an instant, and where possibilities of the Real are repressed, raising perceptual, existential and moral questions.

Un responsable blanc sur le dos d'un cheval, fusil à la main, est déterminé à ne pas les laisser s'enfuire de ce travail de torture. A child stands in a wonderland of white cotton. Others come into view picking cotton. A white overseer on horseback, rifle in hand, is determined to let them not escape the torturing work.

Stations, tracks and electric wires from the nighttime frame of Dormente, which reveals formmms without borders, paralysed forces, repetitive gestures, memories, self portraits and the darkness of our daily journey.

Originally shot in 1997 - with in the main role the wife of the director being pregnant in the 8th month – and edited in 2006, SUB_SECTIO is a personal, compelling fetish-horrormovie on upcoming parenthood in which the woman gives birth to furniture.

 

 

Artemis, de Valerie Morignat

France 2001 DV 0:13:00 Artémis évolue sous les eaux glacées en une allégorie du virtuel. Divinité des frontières, gardienne des mondes sauvages, elle émerge des images abyssales de Valérie Morignat et de la musique de Costin Miereanu en un éternel éloge du désir créateur. Les images ont été assemblées selon un procédé interactif de capture du mouvement qui a donné lieu à plus de 50 versions différentes de la vidéo. In the Greek mythology, Artemis is known as the goddess of the night and fertility, the Lady of the beasts, the guardian of frontiers. In the movie of Valérie Morignat, directed through interactive video editing, Artemis is an ambiguous apparition constantly emerging from the music of Costin Miereanu as an allegory of desire. The motion capture based system used for the editing generated more than 50 versions of the video.

Impending Doom (Calamité menaçante), d’Egdar Pêra

Portugal 2006 DV 0:07:00 sans dialogue Filmé en super 8, Impending Doom est un témoignage visuel et une interprétation sonore de deux cérémonies de communion. Elles eurent lieu à Rome et à Lisbonne en 2005. Les deux communautés avec leurs propres croyances et idéologies partageaient les sentiments de douleur, de chagrin et de paix dans un monde en guerre. Shot in super 8 Impending doom and is a visual testimony and a sonic interpretation of two ceremonies of communion that took place in Rome and in Lisbon in the year of 2005. Both communities with different kind of beliefs and ideologies shared a sense of pain, grief and peace in a world at war.
