The movement of the animal in the air is less a flight than a kind of
uncertain fluttering, that seems executed by a sinister will.
The bat is used to be called a monster being.

Norma and Cachita were both 68 years old when they became the first
women to lawfully marry in Latin America, after having spent years
fighting for same-sex marriage legislation to be approved in
Argentina. The documentary tells the story of their journey, as they
return to Colombia, the country where this couple – an Argentinean and
Uruguayan – first met thirty years ago. "Juntas" is an internal
journey, which translates into images and music, the passage of time,
the challenge of overcoming distances and what it means to be a
foreigner. It’s the story of two women who in their old age confront
their past, the fatigue of their aging bodies and the tricks memory
can play. The spirit that traverses this story is the vital impulse
that drives its two protagonists, the beauty of the unforseeable and
the magic belonging to a place. How do you recount a journey, if as
you go back it all seems like a dream? What happens if you long to
return to a place for such a long time? Perhaps when you finally
arrive, you don’t want to – or simply can’t – wake up.

An international jury overview the sections of short films coming from all over the world. We prefer documentaries which succeed in representing the complexity of reality and discover in a new way its sensible and perturbing aspects on the same time accentuating the ambivalent and enigmatic status of reality in avoiding sterotypes and simplifing conclusions.
