Corruption materializes into a giant landfill site that expands uncontrollably, which devours collective hopes and memories from the city and their inhabitants. This is the story behind The Vortex, a documentary that combines with fiction to immortalize for posterity the Great Fire of Valparaíso of 2014, the worst disaster of this kind in the history of Chile.

"Over" presents a crime scene. During the course of 9 wide shots, we watch an intriguing story unfold. What's happened in this quiet neighbourhood? A murder, hit-and-run, an accident? The reality is profound, and deeply unexpected.

Director Statement :
I’m truly honoured to receive this award at your festival.
OVER is small film, but no less vital for that. It’s a deceptively simple story. It’s also a very surreal story that warranted a different way of telling. Its stillness makes us look closer, draws us in. I hope it’s all the more powerful for that.
The film has a terrifying relevance to the extremely troubling times in which we all live. I dedicate it to those men and women, those desperate human beings, who go to such extreme lengths to make better lives for themselves and their families.
If you’re still thinking about the film, in any shape or form tomorrow, then I’ve succeeded in what I set out to do.
Thanks again for this incredible honour. I’m sad I can’t be with you.
