Thomas Pfanne Germany

Thomas Pfanne


Thomas Pfanne, German national, born 1956, studied physics and philosphy before becoming a lawyer in 1986. Though he never attending formal film school, he started filmmaking on his own, soon winning a third prize in the Brno international fest 1976, at age 20 (“Elegie am Sonntag”, starring his mother Gisela Pfanne). His first feature-length film was shot in Ecuador in 1990. "Seltsame Führung“ (Strange excursion, see http://tpfanne.de) raises the question what 1492 means to the Indian population today, 500 years later. It is also an example of Thomas’ engagement into political discourse. You learn more about his political and moral engagement at https://www.facebook.com/tpfanne.
Being a constitutional patriot with the privilege of a safe status for his family and himself, he maintains a high degree of independence throughout his life. He spent many years living in Rome, Buenos Aires, Quito, Paris Moscow, New York, Barcelona and Sofia and speaks all the languages of these cities fluently. He served in many positions in the art world and is a regular film festival attendee.







   
Angela Haardt Germany

Angela Haardt



Angela Haardt was born in Darmstad (Germany). After studies in philosophical esthetics and German and Polnish litterature she worked in consulting position for the „Wüstenrot Stiftung“ (Section film), organizing the "Kurzfilmbiennale Ludwigsburg“ and the "Guardini Stiftung“ preparing film screenings and lections.
1972 – 1974 she was member fondator of the "Internationale Forum der Filmavantgarde (iff)“ at München, where she organizing a seminar about women film at 1973 .
1977 – 1986 she leaded the film section of the „Volkshochschule Duisburg“ and the comunal cinemas in Duisburg (up to 1984). She was also director of the "Duisburger Filmwoche“ (up to 1984).
1990 – 1997 Angela Haardt directed the "Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen“. She teached at the Academies of Fine Arts "UdK“ at Berlin and the „Hochschule für Bildende Künste (HfbK) at Hamburg (2000 - 2012).
In 2004 she prepared the retrospective „Eine etwas andere Geschichte. 50 Jahre Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen“ for the Internationalen Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen
Since 1998 she works as free curator for film and media art.
Since 1983 she has prepared and presented for the Goethe Institut selections with short films and documentaries all over the world.






   
Teboho Edkins Germany, South Africa

Teboho Edkins


Teboho Edkins was born in the USA in 1980 and grew up in Lesotho, South Africa and also in Germany. He studied Fine Art at the University of Cape Town, followed by a 2-year post-graduate residency at le Fresnoy, studio national des arts contemporains in France and then a post-graduate film directing program at the dffb film academy in Berlin. His films show at film festivals, television, museums, win awards and have been acquired by private art collections.
