|
Thomas Pfanne, German national, born 1956, studied physics and
philosphy before becoming a lawyer in 1986. Though he never attending
formal film school, he started filmmaking on his own, soon winning a
third prize in the Brno international fest 1976, at age 20 (“Elegie am
Sonntag”, starring his mother Gisela Pfanne). His first feature-length
film was shot in Ecuador in 1990. "Seltsame Führung“ (Strange
excursion, see http://tpfanne.de) raises the question what 1492 means
to the Indian population today, 500 years later. It is also an example
of Thomas’ engagement into political discourse. You learn more about
his political and moral engagement at
https://www.facebook.com/tpfanne.
Being a constitutional patriot with the privilege of a safe status for
his family and himself, he maintains a high degree of independence
throughout his life. He spent many years living in Rome, Buenos Aires,
Quito, Paris Moscow, New York, Barcelona and Sofia and speaks all the
languages of these cities fluently. He served in many positions in the
