A portrait of San Basilio de Palenque, first town in the Americas to
have broken free from European domination, Palenque is an ode to a
place that has been essential to Colombian culture and to its
collective memory. Here, the real and the mythical are often
indiscernible, highlighting how Colombia is coming to terms with its
deep historical trauma.

The main role is played by old family photographs. Illuminated by the
beam of a flashlight like the objects of a treasure hunt, these
pictures that are displayed pinned to a tatami mat present a strange
scene. Encouraged to solve the mystery by the enigmatic developments
surrounding a date that has been lost, we cannot follow this path to
the “truth.” A work in which both the monologue and visuals make use
of the immense power of poetry to deliver a message

#Water /knowhowknow is a fictionalized documentary and a visual sound
poem about our relationship with the ocean,- investigations based on
the local situation from the Froan edging the Norwegian sea to the
inner Trondheim fjord. We are all local inhabitants and global
participants. The film with the sound composed by Maja Solveig
Kjelstrup Ratkje, takes us through the fisheries down to the bottom of
the ocean and its inhabitants, through historical flashes, boat
building traditions, human vulnerability and hybris, subsea
technologies and aquafarming watched by the mythical figurine "Guri
Kunna" of the Froan sea - whom represent the forces of the oceans and
the ancient knowledge of how to live with the sea. This is the first
chapter in the short film series Knowhowknow investigating human
relationship to its surroundings. The original title #Tjaetsie is
water in the south Sami language.
